Our Mission

Prevention, Education, Research

The Foundation was established in 1988 by the family of Richard J. Fox, a respected community leader, IBM Corporation executive, avid golfer and devoted family man, who died of prostate cancer at the age of 58.

Proceeds from the Foundation support free screenings for the disease as well as education and research towards a cure.

News & Events

Ban(d) Cancer Event

The Richard J. Fox Foundation in conjunction with the Riverwalk Trust, Inc will host an outdoor concert event, ‘BANd CANCER’ Worth It All ...for a cure, to be held September 6, 2012 begining at 5:30 PM. The event, to take place at Huizenga Plaza at the Riverwalk, will feature Roberto Perera , Jazz Guitarist Terry Wollman, Melanie Taylor, Blue Fire Band, as well as various other artists. All proceeds raised on the night will go to cancer research. This event is open to the public: General admission is $50 and VIP tickets $125, sponsor packages start at $1250.

Holy Cross Hospital Men's Fair

On September 8, 2012 Holy Cross Hospital will host a men's fair between 10 AM and 2 PM. Lot's of events are being held to promote health awareness.

Prostate screening Washington DC

The Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC will be providing free prostate screening on September 22, 2012.
